Angelus is bored. Willow is unwary.

Another great chapter. You've reached what I consider to be one of the most difficult moments in angst/non-con. fic -- namely, to show how it happens that a victim comes to seek comfort in the one who has perpetrated the act of violence against him or her. It's a difficult move to justify or make compelling -- any many stories that I've read fail completely. But your story shows how, in the moment of trauma, how rational the irrational can become. Willow's desperate need to feel compassion from someone -- even her rapist -- dramatizes the devestating ramifications of Angelus's act as Willow's own overwhelming isolation. I'm looking forward to the next chapter which I see you've just posted. Yay!

Author's Response: Thank you! Thank you so much! Your feedback is always so thoughtful, insightful, and inspiring! I hope the next chapter lives up to your expectations.

I like the way you've dealt with Angelus's second assault -- and while Willow submits, I really appreciate the fact that you don't romanticize her responses. The physiological detail, the persistance of a pain that outweighs the pleasure (and which she fights against so touchingly to keep him from abandoning her) adds some true originality to a familiar scenario. These last details, which you narrate so well remind me of what I liked so much about the earlier chapters -- the differences in these two characters points of view and how completely oblivious they are of each other despite their violent intimacy.

Author's Response: Thank you. I have tried to present what may be a familiar story in an original way. Your feedback makes me feel like I've succeeded. And that makes me truly happy.

Nice one! I'm really loving the spider and the fly metaphor -- the last line of this installment was so gut-wrenchingly beautiful. As always, it's sad to see Willow struggle to make sense of things -- and come to conclusions in which she is at fault somehow. Dark Angel is very sexy -- and his need to possess Willow so fully is both hypnotic and terrifying!

Author's Response: I'm very flattered that you find my series so intriguing! The fact that you like my characterizations and my use of metaphor is very gratifying! Thank you so much!

This is an amazingly powerful re-telling of the story of what could have happened in Willow's dorm room that night, if Spike hadn't lost his bite. I love the way Willow's thoughts stay at the forefront -- the way Spike and what he's doing to her fades in and out of view -- the whole thing reads like a hallucination, a bad dream -- which is what it's like for Willow -- the unreality of really, finally dying after confronting death so many times. And the thoughts that she expresses during all of it -- the way being alone has pared down her connection to the world to the point that what's happening seems unreal because, ultimately, it doesn't matter -- the way she thinks her death won't matter.

Author's Response: Thanks! I definitely wanted to give it a surreal feel. I'm writing some fic to Garbage song titles and the song itself is so desolate and bleak that I really loved setting a fic to the tone of it. I really appreciate that you took the time to tell me you liked it. Thanks again!

Very powerful. You've captured Angel's distorted perspective with such mastery in this -- and the way that Willow's pain still manages to find its way through to him even though he doesn't know what it means. The final words are truly chilling. Thank you!

Author's Response: No, thank YOU! I really am very flattered that you think so highly of my work and find it so compelling! Readers like you inspire me to keep writing and to try to live up to your admiration!

Thank you so much for this amazing piece. Beautifully written, dark and wonderful and just what I love about Spillow. Is there any chance of a sequel?

Author's Response: Thank *you* for letting me know that you enjoyed it and for complimenting me hugely as I never know where I stand when it comes to spillow. I'd wish for a sequel but I go where my muse takes me and for some reason she never goes the same way twice.

Beautifully written. Loved the bit about how broken witches were just like broken slayers. I think this is my favorite of your short fics thus far!

Author's Response: Thank you SO much! That is wonderful to hear! I am truly pleased that you like the way I portrayed things in this story!

The authors own nothing. Joss, UPN, WB, etc. own Buffy, the show, the characters, the places, and the backstory. The authors own any original plots.
